The film accompanies him on a journey through Niger, the poorest country in the world, and to the "Island of the Blessed", to Austria. How is life in the no man’s land between two worlds? Between extended family and your own needs, between barrenness and excess?

The film pursues this and many other questions using atmospheric images, without making any judgements, without dictating the right answer. We visit friends and family members, strange towns, familiar places, fascinating nature and unusual people. Through gestures, words and thoughts we get to know Alhousseini, surrounded by and yet beyond the romance of Tuareg.
